Yanaginogosho used to be the central base for the three generation of Oushu Fujiwara lords. The location is in the northeastern part of Hiraizumi, Iwate, on a tableland facing Kitakami-river.
It was acknowledged to be the governmental center of Hidehira, the third lord of Fujiwara by the evidence through research and excavation since 1988. It is also quite significant site in order to know the circumstance of the central government in Tohoku region in the process of establishing the samurai worrier governments.
