Summary

Gilt bronze, with a short club with five prongs at each end.
The central grip is encircled by large demons' eyes, and above and below these a lotus flower pattern. At each end is a central straight prong, surrounded by four curved overhanging prongs.
It is an exotic and vigorous work.
A round piece of gold fitted in the center of the demons’ eye.
It supposed to be made late Heian period, the time of So-Dynasty in China.
The shape is quite different from ordinary ones, therefore it presumed to be made in China.
The legend said that Jikaku-Daishi(a high priest) once owned it.

(It represent the indestructibility of Buddhist law, and the power of the Buddha to conquer evil.)
