This box case is made of cypress wood, with gilt bronze engraving.
It used gilt bronze sheets for bougaku, long edging boards and rails with fishroe motif.
In Bougaku, there are five statues centering on Shogun-Jizo statue in armor, Bishamonten and Karasu-Tengu on the left, Fudo-Myo-O and Jizo a crow-billed goblin on the right, with a clump of the Japanese cedar on both sides.
Among some similar examples, it is so valuable and precious because its well-balanced and well-designed decorative pattern.
It has particularly metal ornaments, among other wooden Oi boxes in Chuson-ji.

It was made in Muromachi period.
