Overview

The Iwate Prefectural Art Museum, which opened in October 2001, is located on the west side of Morioka Station, in the new cultural zone, Morioka Chuo Park. We will collect and display works by local artists centered on Kingoro, Matsumoto Keisuke and Tsujikoshi Hotake, and will also hold exhibitions on various domestic and international themes. At the same time, we hold various events to get familiar with fine arts such as lectures, workshops and concerts, aiming for a new cultural facility in Iwate in the 21st century.
