Overview

The Hirose puppet show is a solo-type and scissors-type puppet show distributed in the Tohoku region such as Akita and Iwate.
It seems to be akin to the sarakura doll in Akita Prefecture, which is considered to be a representative of it, but in Hirose it has the tradition origin of the Mito sew-to-e-mon single-seat system of HITACHI.

In Iwate prefecture, (1) Mizupushi puppet theater (Kouchi-machi, Kuchiuchi-cho Mizukushi), (2) Kurasawa puppet kabuki (Hanamaki-shi, Towamachi Kurasawa), (3) Hirose puppet-theatrical performances (Oshu, Esashi-ku Hirose) (4) Aniwa puppet theater (Kotoishi-cho Aniwa) has been handed down until recently, but it is a valuable tradition group because it has been interrupted by waterlogging and difficult to inherit even in Aniwa.
Kurasawa, who specializes in "Picture book Taikoki Shigazaki-no-Dan" and "Oshu-Attagahara Sode-Bei Festival", has a different good-looking performance and "Yoshihara scenery" as well.
