Kuroishi Temple Suminsai Festival
This event is held from the night of the 7th to the morning of the Chinese New Year, and it is a strange festival where naked young people are divided east-west in front of each other, fighting for "Seomin bag".
It is said that the direction in which the person who took the Sumi-Ban lives in will be given the fortune of five-grain riches that year. In the prefecture, it takes place at Kokuseki Temple in Mizusawa-ku, Oshu City, Ide Kumano Shrine in Esashi Ward, Koshio Jinja in Hanamaki City, and so on.
